A Life that is Worth the Ride

I began my interest in helping people build their businesses when I discovered that there was so much available on the internet for free use.  I have known so many people in my lifetime (myself included) that would have been in business for themselves long ago, but start-up costs were just absolutely too ridiculous.

It used to be that if you didn’t have $50,000.00 start up, you may as well not even try.  I’m happy to say that those days are behind us.

I love to take things that seem impossible and make them possible.

What would you say about a man who decided to sell sail boats for a living in the middle of the desert?  That was my father.  Everybody told him he was crazy to be setting out on such an adventure.  My brothers and he nailed together the first 10 docks at the Great Salt Lake.  At the time, there was no other sailing game in town.  When he passed away, he had lived a life of his choosing which included early retirement.  I’ve never seen anyone do business like my parents and they are my healing light to the fact that when you share what you love, everybody wins.  They taught their adult friends to play hard and their children to work hard.  I’m one of the few people I know that can actually state that they grew up in a family that sincerely liked one-another and we played together very well.  My Mother was a cross between Mary Poppins (who sang all day to make the chores seem lighter) and Mary Richards (an independent business woman who cared more about serving people than she did about being at the family business the second the doors opened.)  I am so lucky…and so grateful.

It is my goal to assist other people to experience this same kind of life.  I want people to have the internal happiness that I had growing up and my parents had in companionship.  I want people to have businesses that they love…because it’s what they love…not because they were out of a job and they took anything that was available…and now it’s 25 years later.  It is my intention to become a vehicle to create that life for myself and to help others in developing that life for themselves.

I made a career out of doing things that nobody else wanted to do.  If there was a task at my prior jobs that everybody hated doing, I would make it my entire function so that they were not bothered with it.  I knew once I got good at it, I would like it.  I was always right about that.  Not to mention, others at work appreciated that it removed a specific drudgery.  That’s really what it’s about for me.  Making things fun so people can sing through their day, that is my goal for the actions of the Healing Light Studio too.

I love Social Marketing.  Facebook, Twitter, Linked-In, Plaxo, and many others.  There are so many sites where you can set up a profile and get seen…for free!  Not only do I find it fun to set up the profiles, but it is just as fun to help you define your purposes for being there.  I sincerely enjoy getting to know people and their passions, building slide-shows to showcase your work, and developing a style that is clearly all about you.  It is my belief that finding your unique voice and becoming that voice is a key to success within your industry.
